Tom Strutz has over thirty years of experience in private club management and consulting. Originally from California, Mr. Strutz is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He also holds a Master of Science Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Florida International University. Prior to joining McMahon Group, he served as an officer in the U.S. Army, managing Army clubs in South Korea, Washington state and Washington D.C.

As Senior Vice President of McMahon Group, Mr. Strutz is director of the Survey and Market Research Division and is project manager for the Department of Defense club consulting projects. As head of McMahon Group’s survey division, he specializes in market research projects for clubs such as focus group research, member satisfaction surveys and surveys in support of facility improvement programs. Since joining McMahon Group in 1990, Mr. Strutz has assisted over 800 clubs on membership surveys and market research projects.

He has written articles on club membership surveys, which have been published in Club Management, Club Director and Communiqué, the publication of the Canadian Society of Club Managers.

Mr. Strutz served on the Board of his swim and tennis club for 7 years, and recently completed a 3-year term as club president.
